What are the energies of love?

And  how are they harnessed?

"The day will come when after harnessing space, the tides, and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, humanity will have discovered fire." *   Teilhard de Chardin

This quote from the French Jesuit priest and paleontologist, Teilhard de Chardin, is quite stunning.

We tend to think of love as something good, something positive, something very nice indeed. We understand that a mother’s love for a child can be a fiercesome force, and we know that in the history of true love, lovers have done some very crazy things for each other. But what Teilhard is saying here is that there is nothing more powerful than the power of love. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If the discovery of fire – or more accurately, the discovery of how to tame and control fire, was the discovery that gave humanity a certain dominion over the natural world, then the discovery of how to harness the energy of love would be the discovery that might save humanity today. Teilhard was not talking about some namby-pampy, new-agey sweetness and light sort of emotion. He was talking about a fearsome cosmic force...

So, how do we harness this power? You tell me!

* For you inquisitive types and Francophones out there: Teilhard probably wrote these words in about 1936, but they weren’t published in English until 1975 in the book, Toward the Future, at the end of an essay called “The Evolution of Chastity”. His words: “Quelque jour, après l'éther , les vents, les marées, la gravitation, nous capterons, pour Dieu, les énergies de l'amour. - Et alors, une deuxième fois dans l'histoire du Monde, l’Homme aura trouvé le Feu. “ (Trans above by TD & Caroline Fung)

 Don’t Despair – Conscious

Awareness is Spreading!

The desire to better conditions in the world for everyone and for the Earth itself is spreading.

Below is a quote from the great Buddhist teacher, Robert Thurman, on the occasion of his passing. It makes me think of how Gopi Krishna described the potential future of humanity – assuming we keep evolving. And with people like him and Thurman to guide us, we are!

Another bright spot to assure you that consciousness is evolving:

Mauro Zappaterra obtained his MD and PhD from Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a focus on optimizing human performance, increasing awareness and decreasing suffering. He has been teaching mindfulness to patients with chronic pain since 2018, Mauro is on the board of the Emerging Sciences Foundation and has written extensively on the possible relationship between higher states of consciousness/awareness and the cerebral spinal fluid… Of course, it may be many years before the scientific community confirms this – or finds that kundalini-shakti moves in even more mysterious ways.
